10 Key Organizing Tips for Hobbies and Crafts

To have an organized hobby or craft room follow these simple tips:

• Keep like items together
• Containerize items, especially the small items
  
• Clearly label all containers
• Keep projects protected from dust, light, pets and kids
• Hang up or place frequently used items within easy reach of your work area
• Have a trash can near where you are working to keep work areas clean as you go
• Lay a heavy sheet of plastic over the work area to keep table tops protected
• Use a cutting board to protect surfaces when using cutting wheels or knives
• Copy patterns to preserve the original and mark the copy as needed for clarity
• Donate usable hobby and craft items you don’t need or want to a schools, community or senior centers
